Over 140 pages of original handwritten scores by the famous composer/conductor/arranger David Rose (best known for "The Stripper"), for the early televsion sitcom, "It's A Great Life," which aired during 1954-55. A VHS tape of the pilot is included. Written by Ray Singer and Dick Chevillat, "It's A Great Life" starred Michael O'Shea and William Bishop as ex-G.I.'s Steve and Denny; Frances Bavier, the future Aunt Bee from "Mayberry R.F.D." costarred. A humorous reply to an autograph seeker, in part: "Certainly it's too much trouble!…I never send autographs to you fiends unless you enclose a stamped self addressed envelope.* !" He then signs in full. With a Typed Note Signed with large red initials, on personal stationery, 1 p, 7x8½", New York City, 21 Nov. (19)48. Very good; light stain affects part of salutation to radio personality Mary Margaret McBride. "You confirm me in my misogyny. Lot 128		Kent, Rockwell (1882-1971) American painter and printmaker. Hand-tinted lithograph signed and inscribed, "To all the Carters, love and Glory Hallelujah! Sally & Rockwell 1944," just under the image of a winged Victory holding a furled flag in her left hand and a sword in her right hand, with a thunderbolt and storm clouds are in the background., 14x10", n.p. Excellent condition. Matted to an overall size of 19¼x15". Printed below the image is the first verse and chorus of "Battle Hymn of the Republic." A patriotic piece created during World War II. Lot 132		Osborn, Robert Chesley. Cartoonist, satirist, and artist. Original 11½x15" Crayon Drawing Signed "Osborn" at lower left, with an Autograph Note Signed "Bob O." on the verso, n.p., n.d. Fine; minor age toning. The drawing, sent as a thank-you gift to his friends, the Shaws, is of a figure, possibly on skis, who is obviously frightened. The paper is watermarked "J. Perrigot Archives." The note on the verso says, "dear Shaws, what a lovely ending you two provided. many, many thanks for that food and that good talk amidst those exhilerating Franzen ramps. much love to both of you. Lot 135		Rouault, George (1871-1958) French painter and printmaker. Autograph Letter Signed ("Rouault"), in French 1 ¼ pp, recto and verso, n.p., 2 May (?) 1952. Very good; 2 strips of 2 ½" tape at left margin (used to tip letter into a book). Rouault notes that he is in the South, "attempting to recover…from the efforts I am compelled to make at over 80…naturally on account of various planned retrospective exhibitions.…" Rouault�s daughter, Isabelle, writes below her father�s letter, asking "Monsieur" to take photographs of the works that he owns, with their titles and dimensions.
